Dr. Pershauna Johnson is the Assistant Director of Traditional Music at First UMC. Since relocating to Lubbock in 2020, she has made the city her home, with her fiancé joining her in 2022. Pershauna has over 13 years of professional experience and recently earned her Doctorate in Conducting from Texas Tech University in 2023.

With a rich background in music, she has enjoyed a diverse career that includes singing in churches, performing as a flutist in bands, orchestras, and musicals. Pershauna has also served as a music teacher and clinician for young musicians and music educators. She is enthusiastic about her new role at First LBK and is eager to revitalize the children’s choir ministry.

In her personal time, Pershauna enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and watercolor painting. She is excited to deepen her faith and grow in grace with the support and fellowship of the FUMC community.
